My Americana

The recollection of my memories

Moving to America was eye-opening for me. A new world was put in front of me. I never dared to come out as a homosexual to my family while living in the Dominican Republic. I never saw it as an option. “America,” told me it was acceptable to be truthful and to love myself, and above all, “America” told me that being different is just a gift to some. “My Americana” is a collection that translates what I felt seeing for the first time in NYC. A city so structural and at the same time full of freedom. I guess, symmetrical and flawlessly disturbed.
